Sumera Galvez is the Founder and Board Chair of The Aura Foundation, where she brings together extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, financial stewardship, and community-based wellness to expand access to healing, education, and opportunity. Her work is rooted in the belief that holistic wellness and economic empowerment are essential to building resilient, thriving communities.

In addition to founding The Aura Foundation, Sumera is the Co-Owner of Aura Holistic & Metaphysical Wellness and serves as Chief Financial Officer of Urban Male Network, a Chicago-based nonprofit focused on youth development, mentorship, and trauma-informed programming. Across her leadership roles, she has overseen complex budgets, managed federal and state grant funding, supported audit and compliance processes, and helped build sustainable systems that ensure community impact and long-term organizational health.

Sumera’s background spans nonprofit finance, organizational development, and community program leadership. She is known for combining strategic vision with practical execution, ensuring that mission-driven organizations operate with strong governance, transparency, and measurable outcomes. Her experience managing grants, financial systems, and partnership development allows The Aura Foundation to grow with accountability and purpose from its earliest stages.

As a healer and practitioner trained in modalities including Reiki, shamanic healing, sound therapy, and trauma-informed practices, Sumera bridges traditional wisdom with modern systems of care. This integrated perspective informs the Foundation’s pillars of Community Wellness, Women’s Leadership, Holistic Education, Business Empowerment, and Mental Health & Trauma-Informed Care.
